Mel, Jim Wilson up in North Carolina passed away last Friday of respiratory failure. If you know of anyone in the old GT family that would want to know, please pass this along.
Below is the letter I received: Paul ---- Dear Friends,
This letter is being sent to everyone on Jim Paw-Paw Wilson's address book. our good friend, Patriot, Blacksmith, Chairman of Cybersmiths International and author of The Revolutionary Blacksmith, passed away Friday May 13 at 12:30 PM.
Jim is survived by his wife Sheri, 4 children and 27 foster children. He died of respiratory failure after a bout of pneumonia possibly trigerred by zinc fume fever.
A memorial service will be held Monday May 16, 7:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Clemmons, NC. Coffee and desert will be served afterward. In liew of flowers please make a donation to Catholic Social Services or a charity of your choice.
As many of you know Jim was building a NEW blacksmith shop. It is beautiful, open and airy. He had just gotten the chimney atached to his new forge but it has never had a fire in it. This afternoon his family and I will be putting the blower on the forge and building the first fire and probably the last fire in his forge at 5:00 PM Sunday May 15. The fire will be used by his children and grandchildren to experiance some of Jim's love for the forge. Afterward we will ring his anvil and deface his touchmark.
Jim was my best friend and traveling companion. We shall all miss him.
