"There is a destiny that makes men brothers:

None goes his way alone;
All that we send into the lives of others:

Comes back into our own.”

~Edwin Markham (1852-1940)

Lord, Thou Dost Care - by Arthur G. Sanderson

"O Lord, dost Thou not care for every child of Thine,

Dost Thou not hear them when to Thee they cry?

Some are healed when unto Thee they call,

And others, Lord, it seems, they are passed by.

"For years I've suffered with unending pain,

And many times, Lord, I have called to Thee.

Have I thus prayed these many prayers in vain?

Then could it be Thou carest not for me?"

This prayer I prayed.  I could not understand

Why pain and sickness should be mine to bear.

And then in answer I saw Calvary ---

I saw my own dear Saviour suffering there.

He gave His all that someday I might have

Immortal life --- life free from sin and pain.

On Calvary He gave His life for me.

"Lord, may I never doubt Thy care again.

"O Lord, although I do not understand Thy way,

I ask for faith and trust to do Thy will,

That when Thou comest for me on that day

I will be found, then, trusting in Thee still.

"Then in that land where is no sin or pain

I'll dwell with Thee and countless angels there.

I'll know no prayer is ever prayed in vain;

Forever I will know, Lord, Thou dost care."
